Property Description

Step into the refined comfort of our studio apartment at the FlatIron boutique hotel, where luxury meets intimacy in the heart of Hot Springs, SD. This thoughtfully designed suite offers everything you need for a relaxing and memorable stay. The main living area features a queen-sized bed, and in the separate room, you'll find a versatile trundle day bed that easily converts into two additional sleeping spaces, perfect for accommodating up to four guests. It’s a cozy setup that works beautifully for family lodging or small groups, though please note that when the trundle is extended, the space is a bit tight and it partially blocks the bedroom door. For this reason, it’s ideal for children or those who don't mind a snug sleeping arrangement.

At The FlatIron, you’re not just booking a room — you’re experiencing a piece of Hot Springs’ history. Built in 1911, this historic building retains much of its original charm, including creaky floors and unique architectural details that only add to its character. In fact, this particular suite was once a sunroom, so you may notice a gentle slope in the floor, adding to the room’s quirky charm. There’s also a slight lip between the hardwood and tile floors where the kitchen meets the living area, a remnant of the building’s long history.

Located just steps from your door, you’ll find Hot Springs’ natural beauty at your fingertips. Wander along the scenic two-mile trail that runs through town, with views of the crystal-clear spring-fed river and the stunning Black Hills landscape. You’re also within walking distance of Moccasin Springs Natural Mineral Spa, a serene spot to unwind in the healing hot springs, and Evans Plunge, a historic spring-fed water park perfect for a refreshing dip. If you're looking for something quieter, Kidney Springs is just around the corner, offering a peaceful escape surrounded by nature.

Beyond town, you’re perfectly positioned to explore some of the Black Hills' most iconic attractions. Take a short drive to Mount Rushmore, where the majestic faces carved into granite await. For history buffs, the Mammoth Site offers a fascinating look at the ancient creatures that once roamed the land, while outdoor lovers can explore Wind Cave National Park, one of the longest caves in the world, or hit the trails for some stunning hikes.

Back at the FlatIron, you can relax and unwind in our beautifully landscaped courtyard, complete with an inviting gazebo. Enjoy a cup of tea or coffee from our on-site library as you take in the peaceful surroundings and the soothing scent of pine.

Whether you’re here for a weekend getaway, a family adventure, or a quiet retreat, our studio apartment offers a comfortable, intimate space with easy access to all the best that Hot Springs and the Black Hills have to offer.

Please note that this suite does not have a couch — if you prefer one, feel free to check out one of our other listings. While the shower and tub work fine, there is a minor issue with the water flowing through the tub faucet when the shower is on. We’re currently awaiting plumbing repairs, but it doesn't affect the overall experience.

At the FlatIron, we aim to offer you a memorable vacation, blending the charm of history with the beauty of nature. Whether you're exploring the area's rich history, soaking in the hot springs, or simply relaxing in the suite, we’re confident your time here will be nothing short of special.
